Steve Bruce has once again signed Titus Bramble. While the “Sham”bolic one has enjoyed a relatively mistake free life of late, bringing him to Sunderland, where he is well remembered for gifting the Maccans a very famous own-goal during his stint at rival Newcastle, has to be making the supporters at the Stadium of Light a little uncomfortable. It was they, after all, who christened him “Shambles.”
Bruce did admit that he had to think “long and hard” before bringing the much maligned defender to Sunderland but lauded his years of good service at Wigan and claimed, in a slightly more flattering way, that after a decade in the league, Titus had at last gotten it right and would do the red and black proud.
Others might suggest, however, that old Titus was just too slow these days to do much harm. Below, WFC has pilfered, for your viewing pleasure, a compilation of some of Titus the Terrible’s most notable gaffes. Have a peek and tell us, do you think Steve Bruce let his loyalty to a former player blind him to reality?
